BWise Academy:
3 Ways to Find Your Prospects

It’s the central question of new business development:

“How can I find more good leads?”

And it’s exactly what BWise is designed to help you do.

With BWise, it’s easy to find contact info for the prospects you already know about—just enter a firm or contact name, and you’ll see their profile.

But BWise is most powerful when you use it to find your hidden prospects—the ones you don’t already know, and who don’t know you.

In this lesson, you’ll learn the 3 basic ways to find prospects in BWise:

  • Search: Find the Prospects You Know
  • Query: Find Your Hidden Prospects
  • Find Like: Combine Search + Query for Stronger Leads

Here’s how they work, and how you can use them together to zero in on all your best local prospects:

Search: Find the Prospects You Know

When you know what (or who) you’re looking for, use Search.

It’s the first option in BWise’s top navigation menu, and it’s the first screen you see when you login to the app.

With Search, you have a couple of options. You can search for a company by name, phone number, address, or building. Or you can search for individual contacts by first name, last name, or email.

...or by contact.

...or by contact.

That’s it: enter the name of the company or contact your looking for, and BWise will direct you to a profile with valuable information about who they are, what they do, and how to reach them.

Query: Find Your Hidden Prospects

But what about the prospects you don’t know about? How do you find them?

That’s the $64,000 question. And that’s where Query comes in.

Query allows you to uncover prospects that meet certain criteria—location, building type, industry, employee size, and more. It’s the best way to zero in on all the good local prospects you know are out there, but that you didn’t know how to find.

With Query, you can find your hidden prospects—just tell BWise to look for firms that meet your target geographic and demographic criteria.

Find Like: Turn a Search Into a Query

Finally, there’s Find Like.

As we mentioned in our last lesson of BWise Academy, when you click the Find Like button on a company profile, BWise will display a list of similar companies that share the same demographic characteristics. It’s a great way to find prospects that look like your best clients, and who may be more likely to buy from you.

Find Like allows you to Search for a specific company, then turn that company's demographics into a Query so you can find and connect with similar firms.

Find Like allows you to Search for a specific company, then turn that company's demographics into a Query so you can find and connect with similar firms.

But Find Like is also a great example of how you can use Search and Query together to find your best prospects.

Rather than worrying about which geographic and demographic criteria define your target market, use Search to find a specific company you already sell to or want to target, then click Find Like to perform a Query based on that company’s demographics.

And that's how you find prospects with BWise.

Search when you know what you’re looking for.

Query when you want to find your hidden prospects.

Find Like when you want to combine Search and Query for stronger leads.

In the next lesson of BWise Academy, you’ll learn what to do when you can’t find what you’re looking for by using Research on Demand, our on-call research service.
